FIFA ban Sepp Blatter: LIVE updates and reaction as FIFA president and Michel Platini slapped with eight-year bans

It's the end of the road for Sepp Blatter as he has been banned from the game for eight years - follow the latest updates and reaction her.

FIFA have banned Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini from football for EIGHT YEARS .
The two had been under investigation by the body's Ethics Committee amid the corruption scandal that has shaken up football governance in recent months.
And now, the adjudicatory arm of the committee has opted to ban both men from all football-related activity.
The Swiss will face the media this morning.

He’s beginning to ramble here.
Blatter is trying to cling on, now talking about this history books, about oral agreements and the like.
“I will fight for me and for FIFA.
“Suspended for what?
“I spoke to my lawyer this morning.”

“We have the proof that this was not only known by Platini and me and we know the agreement exists. The committee denies this and the 2million Swiss francs which were due and paid to Platini went through the finance committee and through congress and was done in good terms.”

“We are in a so-called oral contract, or gentleman’s agreement.
“This was made in 1998 after the World Cup in France. Mr Platini approached me and said he wanted to work for FIFA.

“He said I am a very expensive man, I said that’s OK, but we cannot pay you now.
“But what astonished me now with today’s decision is that they deny the existence of such an agreement. And this agreement was indirectly confirmed by two meetings of the UEFA exec committee in Sweden and in Zurich in December 1998.
